On February 11th 2010, International Nuclear Academy gathered more than one hundred professionals on a cutting edge and challenging topic: “Numerical simulation contributions to improve metallurgical engineering: the nuclear industry experience”. Representatives with different backgrounds networked together to transfer between each other their respective cutting edge know-how: from SMEs and funding agencies to blue-chip companies and materials R&D laboratories. Workshops identified the technological and human resources and financial issues which need to be addressed in order to improve the use of this kind of tools for shaping and machining and assembly of materials.
