6th July 2010 July: International Nuclear Academy presented its activities during a conference gathering 100 Italian membres of CONFINDUSTRIA and Pole Nucleaire Bourgogne. This event was organised alongside the French-Italian cooperation on nuclear activities. It paves the way to further collaboration between both industry.

The INA gathered experts on numerical simulation 01-03-2010

NFM Last February 11th, the International Nuclear Academy gathered more than one hundred professionals on a cutting edge and challenging topic : “Numerical simulation contributions to improve metallurgical engineering: the nuclear industry experience”. Representatives with different backgrounds networked together to transfer between each other their respective cutting edge know-how: from SMEs and funding agencies to blue-chip companies and materials R&D laboratories.  Workshops identified the technological and human resources and financial issues which need to be addressed in order to improve the use of this kind of tools for shaping and machining and assembly of materials.

EPR flamanville The International Nuclear Academy was part of the Burgundy Nuclear Partnership delegation invited to visit the site of the third-generation European Pressurised Water nuclear Reactor (EPR) in Flamanville. The EDF team welcomed the delegation and was proud to show up this outstanding construction construction site.

The start of the EPR construction at Flamanville 3 is a decisive stage in preparing for the replacement of EDF’s nuclear power plants, as the oldest ones could be decommissioned in around 2020. The commissioning of the Flamanville EPR is set for 2012 and the generation of the first marketable electricity in 2013. The EPR plant will constitute the first version of a new generation of reactors in France.

New Nuclear Opportunities - London

The International Nuclear Academy was pleased to attend to the EDF Energy UK Suppliers Forum held in London on the 30th June. This forum was a corner stone for the UK nuclear industry as development plans move forward. The event was attended by companies who are likely to constitute a major part of the UK supply chain for the next generation of Nuclear Power stations. And the INA was pleased to be part of this shortlist.

 

British industry meets with the Burgundy Nuclear Partnership 19-06-2009

Ahead of the new nuclear build to proceed in the UK

A team of more than 20 delegates from the Nuclear Industry Association (NIA), the British trade association and information body for the UK civil nuclear industry, met with the Burgundy Nuclear Partnership (PNB) last June. The British companies included AMEC, ATKINS, BABCOCK, DOOSAN BABCOCK ENERGY, PARSONS BRINCKERHOFF, ROLLS&ROYCE, THOMPSON VALVES, UKAEA, and WESTINGHOUSE. Overall the visit proved to be very successful, fulfilling its objectives and providing opportunity for delegates to network with companies operating in the international nuclear industry. During 3 days, British delegates had the opportunity to gauge the attractiveness of the Burgundy nuclear cluster by visiting top facilities and laboratories at the forefront of nuclear technology.

Opening Ceremony launched by IEA Executive Director 09-04-2009

nobuo tanaka Last 3rd April, Mr. Nobuo Tanaka, IEA Executive Director, came to Dijon to give lecture to Burgundy local authorities and top managers belonging to nuclear industry. Mr. Mazunder, India Nuclear Attaché in France was also attending to this event. They were all especially gathered to mark the official launch of the International Nuclear Academy. This outstanding project is an initiative of the French nuclear industry cluster (Burgundy Nuclear Partnership). This enterprise is brought up at a perfect timing with the Nuclear Industry Renaissance.
